Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
After tremendous success we return with our second vintage from the Russian River Valley - an area known for expressive terroir driven Pinot Noir. This wine is soft and decadent with aromas and flavors of black cherry, red plums, rich dark chocolate and creamy caramel. Deeply colored and full bodied, this wine is aged in 100% French Oak, adding a toasty, vanilla character. Enjoy this elegant Pinot Noir now or over the next ten years.
Vineyard Notes
With over 15,000 acres planted to grapevines, there is a broad range of wines from the Russian River Valley. Cool-climate-loving varietals thrive here, particularly Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. The complexity of the soil types results in wines with bright aromas of wild berries. The wines are rich and velvety, with ripe flavors and vibrant acidity. Dry winter and spring seasons produced another early 2014 summer harvest. However, vineyards along the Russian River Valley enjoyed some of the highest quality fruit in recent memory. The dry weather allowed for greater ripening, with strong, healthy clusters that lasted until the end of harvest. As a result, our 2014 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir exudes deep, rich color and a near-perfect balance.
Food Pairing Notes
Our Scott Family Estate Russian River Pinot Noir is versatile and food friendly. Enjoy it with smoked salmon, pancetta wrapped pork tenderloin or a porcini mushroom risotto.
